You are in: News>FAQs>Baseboard heating instead of radiators?
I am building a new house. Why should I decide in favour of baseboard heating instead of radiators?
Most heating experts agree that baseboard heating creates significant advantages in terms of comfort, cleanness, quiet, fast and simple regulation, health and safety in comparison with hot air and convection systems.
Apart from what the experts say, an average of 88 % of home owners who have experience of both systems believe that baseboard heating is a better system than hot air heating (e.g. night-storage heaters, radiators with a high operating temperature, air-conditioning).
This high approval level was achieved by an anonymous written questionnaire sent to 3,000 home owners in America.
The percentages in favour of baseboard heating with regard to the various criteria are as follows:
draft-free from wall to wall, floor to ceiling, draft-free: 87%;
clean, free of dust and germs: 96%;
quiet: 83%;
easy to regulate, various temperature zones: 79%
healthy and safe distribution of warmth: 94%.
