A midsummer day in the new construction – pretty cool!

Good morning from the greater Klagenfurt area. Outside, the sun is already high in the sky. But inside the house, there is a pleasant coolness. The family relies on the combination of Underfloor Heating and Ceiling Cooling. How does that feel in everyday life? Getting up, time for a good breakfast. The view from the kitchen through the large panoramic windows invites you to linger. With a cup of coffee in hand, the feeling of morning comfort continues.

Off into the day.

Morning

The right indoor climate is a crucial factor for working concentrated at the desk, because even in heated professional situations, it's important to keep a cool head. Unbearably hot home office days are thus a thing of the past. The humming of an air conditioner and its draft are not missed at all.

Afternoon

The children are back from kindergarten and school: time to play! It can get a bit louder. For rooms with a pleasant room acoustics, that's not a problem. The family didn't even have to think about it, after all, the ModularCeiling from Variotherm fulfills several functions: it cools, heats, ensures pleasant room acoustics, and is also a finished ceiling.

Evening

Work? Check. The kids in bed? Check. A hot summer day comes to an end. Finally, time to relax on the couch and let the day wind down.

Thoughts of tropical summer nights no longer bring sweat to this family's brow, thanks to the Ceiling Cooling.

So, how does the heat get out of the house?

Globally, cooling is even more important than heating. But how does ceiling cooling actually work?

Rene Gaiswinkler from Egger Installationen explains: "Quite simply: physics! The surface cooling works through radiation exchange, which cools the body on hot summer days. A pipe system built into the ceiling carries cool water in the summer, providing a pleasant, comfortable feeling. And it's energy efficient on top of that. While an air conditioner requires an operating temperature of 7°C, the ceiling cooling operates with a flow temperature of around 17°C."

The Ceiling Cooling/Heating with Acoustic Function for Drywall Construction is a flexible panel system made from ecologically tested gypsum fiberboards. The pipes, already integrated into the panel, carry either hot or cool water, enabling both cooling and heating without stirring up air. With an additional acoustic function, the modular ceiling ensures tested and guaranteed sound reduction, offering an optimal all-in-one solution for more comfort.
