An orange heart for sports
Mario Schlögel and Variotherm have quite a bit in common. With full motivation, precise technique, and a lot of endurance, the declared goal is to deliver top performance: Variotherm as an innovation leader for surface heating and cooling systems and Mario Schlögel as a top cross-country skier.
The 22-year-old from Vienna, now living in Ramsau am Dachstein, trains with full passion to achieve his goal of becoming one of the best cross-country skiers in Austria. A big goal that Variotherm is happy to support the young athlete with.
Full motivation and full power
In high-performance sports, achieving a place on the podium requires not only years of intense training but also the right mental attitude. Schlögel is convinced of this: "Training is by no means easy. Especially not when you have only one single, possibly still distant goal in mind. It helps immensely if you set many small and short-term, some medium-term, and a few large goals." For Schlögel, this is an important key to success. By achieving goals along the way, the cross-country skier receives the crucial motivational boosts for his daily training.
Competition winter begins in summer.
And the success proves the young high-performance athlete right. Whether in sub-zero temperatures in the snow or hot temperatures in the summer – Schlögel trains not only in winter on skis, but also works on his goals and the next competition season in summer. He gladly swaps cross-country skis for roller skis and running shoes and even competes with them.
Just like at the Austrian Championships in the mountain roller race in September in Kitzbühel, where he even made it to the podium with 3rd place. It was clear: In the overall ranking of the Ski Austria Summer Grand Prix, he secured an excellent 2nd place.
With Variotherm to top placements
For the upcoming winter season, Schlögel is aiming not only for a top position in the Ski Austria Cup but also to participate in all FIS European Cup races. "That's a whole different league. However, I'm confident that with the right training over the summer, I can achieve a few top placements in the top 20," explains Schlögel. It all starts in mid-December with the first European Cup in St. Ulrich / Hochfilzen. The young athlete is working hard for these goals. With the support of Variotherm, Schlögel can optimally prepare for his competitions.
But even with 500 to 600 training sessions per year and 15 to 25 races per season, one thing is clear for Schlögel: "The most important goal during a career in competitive sports must not be forgotten: having fun in training and even more fun in the competitions!"
