Vogelsängerhaus: Preserve the old, shape the new.

In order for a house under monument protection to be renovated, it requires not only sophisticated planning but also experienced partners. For the core renovation of the historic Vogelsängerhaus in the Imst region of Tyrol, Variotherm has exactly the right products.

It is one of the oldest listed buildings in Tyrol. The Vogelsängerhaus in Mils near Imst has a long history. Now the builder, Mr. Jennewein, has completely renovated the historic house. That off-the-shelf solutions cannot be applied in a listed old house like the Vogelsängerhaus is self-explanatory.

Sophisticated technology for old house.

The art of the core renovation of the Vogelsängerhaus lay in handling the existing elements as gently as possible while redesigning them so that one can live wonderfully in it even in 2022. A model piece for all who understand how to preserve the old and create the new. For the heating and cooling, the decades of experience from Variotherm were utilized.

With the goal of renewing the old with sophisticated technology and high-quality standards, Variotherm was able to fully apply its planning expertise for individual solutions: Now all existing surfaces are optimally utilized thanks to the surface heating and cooling systems.

Best combination of tradition and modernity

An aging house is not easy to renovate. The building fabric of the traditional Vogelsängerhaus was completely restored through the core renovation. At the same time, the building was remodeled to be in an absolutely new condition. In the best combination of tradition and modernity, old elements were renewed with quality.

Together with the installer Peham from Mils near Imst and the drywall construction company EOOS from Kematen, Variotherm found the best solution for the individual implementation for the historic house. The interplay of several systems and the use of already available surfaces from the floor, wall, and ceiling now creates an optimal indoor climate and pleasant comfort in the Vogelsängerhaus – and that in a listed building.

Optimal use of all areas.

In the ground floor as well as in the floors of the Vogelsängerhaus, the plastered wall heating EasyFlex and the underfloor heating VarioComp were installed. Both systems not only make optimal use of the existing surfaces, but are also particularly slim in design – perfect for renovations.

Variotherm surface heating and cooling systems can heat the room at already low temperatures of approximately 35°C. A radiator, on the other hand, requires around 60°C to achieve the same room temperature. With the products from Variotherm, up to 25% of energy costs can be saved in the Vogelsängerhaus. A house with a long and traditional history has thus arrived in the modern age.
