This is how the heating and cooling circuit distributor works.

Explained using the example of a heating circuit manifold: It consists of an equal number of supply and return connections, arranged on two manifold bars. From the heat source (e.g., heat pump), the water flows into the manifold system during heating with a flow temperature between 25 and 35 °C. This directs the warm water directly into the individual rooms. The water heats the rooms via the surfaces, cools down again, and flows back into the heating circuit manifold via the return. With the VarioManifold 5.0, the heating and cooling circuit manifold from Variotherm, up to 17 heating circuits can be connected. Thanks to its modular design, the VarioManifold 5.0 can also be expanded at any time with individual elements afterward.

The required flow rates of the circulating water in the individual heating circuits are adjusted via control valves, thus performing the hydraulic balancing. This ensures that it is evenly warm in every room.

The individual segments are only 50 mm wide and 55 mm deep. This allows them to fit space-savingly into a manifold cabinet that is only 80 mm deep when installed. A true space marvel!

Safe and accurate adjustment

The right setting leads to success! The orange fixing ring makes this very safe and easy. During commissioning, the optimal flow per heating and cooling circuit is set. Fix the ring and you're done. Once regulated, the control valve can be repositioned to the previously set value even after a possible closure. This fully complies with EN 1264-4.

The transparent sight glass of the flow meter can be easily unscrewed and cleaned if necessary. This can be done during operation, under pressure. Cleaning ensures that the flow rate on the sight glass (liters per hour) can always be read clearly and distinctly. Clean solution!

The VarioManifold simply explained

A heating and cooling circuit manifold regulates the flow rates of the water and distributes it evenly in the surface heating and cooling systems. This is the only way to keep it comfortable within your own four walls in summer and winter. 

If a surface heating or cooling system is installed in a building, the installed heating pipes reach different lengths. This results in various pressure losses. The consequence: some rooms are heated or cooled better and others worse. 

The solution: A distribution system regulates and distributes the heating and cooling capacity in a water-based surface heating and cooling system for floor, wall, and ceiling.

Technology and Installation

As with all Variotherm complete systems, special attention was paid to making the installation as quick and easy as possible in practice when developing the VarioManifold 5.0. The modern heating circuit manifold can be easily installed flush-mounted, discreetly disappearing into the wall and thus ensuring a tidy, harmonious room feel.
