VarioProFile heating pipe 11.6 x 1.5

ALUMINIUM MULTI-LAYER COMPOSITE PIPE

The VarioProFile Pipe 11.6 x 1.5 is an aluminium multi-layer composite pipe and utilizes the advantages of both aluminium and plastic. Five layers are connected, making the pipe easily bendable yet dimensionally stable. This makes the pipe ideal for floor heating as well as other surface heating systems.

The innermost layer of the pipe is made of polyethylene and is highly temperature-resistant. The mirror-smooth surface prevents any deposits. Water flows through the pipe with minimal resistance and pressure loss.

Due to the profiled surface structure, the outermost layer of the pipe is increased by up to 10%. Compared to other pipes with the same diameter, the larger surface area results in optimized heat transfer.

The laser-welded aluminium pipe is 100% oxygen diffusion-tight. Thus, sludge formation is almost completely excluded.

Where the VarioProFile Pipe 11.6 x 1.5 is used

Floor Heating for dry construction is being installed.

Floor Heating in Drywall Construction

VarioComp

The VarioProFile Pipe 11.6 x 1.5 is laid in the VarioComp boards of the VarioComp Modular Floor Heating in Drywall Construction.

The pre-milled studs with a diameter of 100 and 150 millimeters allow for easy and flexible installation of the VarioProFile Pipe (aluminium multi-layer composite pipe). They ensure a consistent pipe spacing.

Wall Heating/Cooling is being plastered.

Plastered Wall Heating / Wall Cooling

EasyFlexWall

In the ultra-slim EasyFlex wall/ceiling with a pipe spacing of 77 and 115 mm, the VarioProFile Pipe 11.6 x 1.5 is laid on the wall or ceiling and then plastered.

Change in length and expansion

The aluminum layer guarantees up to nine times less linear expansion than conventional plastic pipes. For this reason, the VarioProFile Pipe is ideal for surface heating and cooling. The change in length for 10 m and a temperature difference Δt 25 °C (e.g., 20 °C to 45 °C):

Low tension and good bond.

For a heating system embedded in components such as plaster, panels, or screed, it is essential how the pipes react to thermal effects, such as heat and cold.

Materials with significant expansion behavior (e.g., plastics) or large thermal expansion forces (e.g., metals) can lead to undesirable movements. The changes can cause cracks in the plaster and holes in plastic pipes due to adjacent cavities and loosening of connections (e.g., solder joints in metal pipes).

Creep behavior

The creep behavior indicates the long-term high-temperature strength of the VarioProFile Pipe. This behavior was tested in a creep test. It is very important for heating pipes, as they can be exposed to high temperatures over a longer period. The tested creep behavior was examined for a lifespan of 50 years.
