The best alternatives for hot days

Plastered Ceiling Cooling/Heating

Comfortable temperature all year round – with Ceiling Cooling & Heating

Pleasant warmth from above: This is how ceiling heating works

It's due to the plastered ceiling heating! Invisible water-guided pipes run in the ceiling and provide even, cozy warmth even in the depths of winter. Unlike conventional radiators, ceiling heating uses radiant heat, which pleasantly warms the room without air turbulence. But it can do even more: On hot summer days, cold water flows through the pipes and gently cools the room – all without air conditioning. This way, it remains comfortable all year round.

Modern kitchen-living room with visible ceiling heating: VarioProFil pipes are integrated into the ceiling.

Heating and Cooling

In the cold season, it provides pleasant radiant heat, while on hot days it offers soothing cooling.

Less consumption, more comfort – this is how you save energy.

A ceiling heating system provides pleasant radiant heat through its large-area installation – and this with significantly lower flow temperatures than conventional radiators. While traditional radiators often require temperatures of up to 60 °C, a ceiling heating system operates at just 26 to 38 °C (depending on the outside temperature). The reason: radiators emit heat only at specific points, while an area heating system warms the entire room evenly.

Another advantage: Thanks to the pleasant radiant heat, the room temperature can be lowered by up to 2 °C – without any loss of comfort. This saves energy and reduces heating costs by about 6% per degree of temperature reduction per year.

Our tip: Good insulation of the top floor ceiling enhances the saving effect and additionally reduces heat loss!

Ceiling Cooling

A ceiling cooling system ensures a pleasant indoor climate through radiant exchange – we feel comfortable even at 26 °C.

In comparison, an air conditioning system must lower the room temperature to about 23 °C to offer the same comfort. This means that surface cooling reduces energy consumption and saves up to 30% in energy costs.

Another advantage: The ceiling cooling operates without drafts or disturbing noises, creating an especially pleasant indoor climate.

Decades ago, Variotherm developed the EasyFlexCeiling, a recipe for success that has proven itself thousands of times in practice.

The secret of its success lies in the perfect coordination of all components. The optimal heat transfer provides cozy radiant heat in winter, while the gentle cooling function creates a pleasant indoor climate in summer – without drafts or disturbing noises. This makes the EasyFlexCeiling the ideal solution for energy efficient new buildings and renovations, as it combines maximum functionality with the highest comfort.

Installation room of a plastered ceiling heating/cooling

This is how the EasyFlexCeiling is constructed.

The high-performance heating/cooling with only 17 mm installation height, which can be laid very 'easily'.

1   Plaster base (e.g., concrete ceiling)

2   VarioRail 11.6

 3   VarioProFile Pipe 11.6 x 1.5

4   First plaster layer

5   Plaster mesh

6   Second plaster layer

Electrical installations? No problem!

Before laying the EasyFlexCeiling, the electrical empty conduit is installed. When installing the flush-mounted boxes, the corresponding plaster level must be taken into account.

Coordinated components

The EasyFlexCeiling impresses with its slim design, close pipe spacing, and high heating and cooling performance. Thanks to its flexible structure, it can be effortlessly installed and easily adapts to curved shapes.

This system enables optimal temperature control of surfaces and is ideal for living spaces and design-oriented heating surfaces.

VarioRail

The VarioRail is the fastening system for the VarioProFile Pipes. The material is made of polyethylene, which facilitates the installation of the VarioProFile Pipe on the ceiling. The VarioProFile Pipe snaps in and can thus be installed quickly and evenly. The rail can be extended as desired through a special click technique. The pipe spacing is 77 mm or 115 mm.

THE VARIOPROFILE PIPE 11.6 x 1.5

The VarioProFile Pipe 11.6 x 1.5 utilizes the advantages of aluminum and plastic. Five layers are connected, making the pipe easily bendable and yet dimensionally stable. The innermost layer of the pipe is made of polyethylene and is temperature resistant. The mirror-smooth surface does not allow deposits, the water flows through the pipe without resistance and with minimal pressure loss. The profiled surface structure increases the outermost layer of the pipe by up to 10%.

A larger surface area means optimized heat transfer.
