This is how skirting heating heats
The heating elements are the technical heart of the Variotherm Skirting Heating: a copper pipe with attached aluminum fins. Warm water flows through the copper pipe, which heats the fins. The heat is emitted through a physical reaction over the wall, this is the Coandã effect:
A warm air curtain forms along the walls. Warm, rising air always moves upwards along cold surfaces (e.g., exterior walls or large glass surfaces). A vacuum forms between the airflow and the surface, allowing the heat to rise along the surface.
Thus, the wall becomes a heat source. At the same time, the cold from outside is shielded.
Where is a Skirting Heating installed?
Along cold wall and glass surfaces, Variotherm Skirting Heating Systems quickly create a warm air curtain. The models, available in over 200 RAL colors, also look good.
Skirting Heating is installed within the room on the exterior walls. And this for two reasons: On one hand, they comfortably warm the room, and on the other hand, they can prevent condensation from forming on cold wall areas. Thus, the wall remains dry.
The Skirting Heating can be operated with both central heating systems and low temperature systems.

The substructure
The Skirting Heating System Classic and Delta can be effortlessly installed on all finished plastered walls, wood panels, niches, wall projections, or window sills.
The heating element
The heating elements are the technical heart of the Variotherm Trench Heating Systems and Skirting Heating Systems and were specially developed for this purpose. They operate highly efficiently and are optimal in heat output.
The heating elements consist of a copper pipe ø 18 × 0.5 mm (DIN EN 12 449) with aluminum fins 56 × 78 mm. These aluminum fins are corrugated, resulting in an enlarged surface area and thus greater heat output. This ultimately leads to lower flow temperatures and saves energy during operation.
Through the special production process, the pipe and the aluminum fins are connected. This makes them particularly powerful.
Delta skirting heating
The extremely discreet Delta skirting heating adapts visually like a chameleon to all walls. Over 200 RAL colors fulfill almost every design wish for the metal cladding. In the Delta system, the cladding is included.

Simple and quick to install
The Skirting Heating System can be effortlessly installed on all finished plastered walls, wood panels, niches, wall projections, or window sills. The installation can be carried out by one person: screw the brackets to the wall and insert the heating elements. Then connect the heating elements and attach the casing. Done.
Dimensioning of the Skirting Heating System
In addition to choosing the right heating system, information on room size, room height, door and window sizes, building material components, and thermal resistance is important for the dimensioning of the Skirting Heating System. When planning power outlets, make sure they are located above the Skirting Heating. We recommend positioning power outlets approximately 350 mm from the finished floor surface.
The crucial factor is planning the maximum flow temperature of the Skirting Heating. Only then will the room be comfortable. We recommend setting the design temperature no higher than 60 °C. Otherwise, the fin temperature will exceed the temperature of dust smoldering – this can lead to unhealthy air.
The optimal flow temperature of the Skirting Heating is between 50 and 55 °C.
