The best floor coverings for floor heating
The thicker the flooring, the slower the heat transfer, as the floor needs to be heated for a longer time. Materials with high thermal conductivity, such as tiles and natural stone, are particularly suitable. The thermal resistance should be a maximum of 0.15 m²K/W, with an optimal value of ≤ 0.1 m²K/W, as also recommended by Variotherm. In principle, almost any flooring can be installed as long as it is suitable for floor heating. Good advice helps to find the ideal combination of design and efficiency.
Installation example
The floor heating is laid continuously with a pipe spacing of 100 mm. In this example, a meander laying pattern was chosen in front of large glass surfaces or glass doors, which extends approximately 1 m into the room. This results in a slightly higher surface temperature in front of the glass surfaces.
