Bridge Race 2016
For the sixth year running, the motto of the Variotherm Bridge Race participants was 'Running for charity'.
The 38 Variotherm athletes proved once more that exercise is not only good for the body, it can also help other people. With 14 participants in the main race (10 km), three relay teams and 15 budding runners in the kids race, the 'Variotherm Sports Team' set a new participation record for the company.
Although the April weather did not promote a sense of well-being among the spectators, the windless 10 °C provided optimum conditions for the 1,650 runners at the 16th Leobersdorf Bridge Race. Nevertheless, a great atmosphere also prevailed among the visitors in the Leobersdorf village centre.
We proudly congratulate Alexander Hajszan (Variotherm-Sports) on winning 2nd place in the Leobersdorfer race and crossing the finishing line in 38:02 minutes. This is an outstanding achievement!

Aside from the sportive aspect, the Leobersdorf Bridge Race also supports seriously ill children and their families as 'Partner des Sterntalerhofs' (partner of the Sterntalerhof). Sterntalerhof is an establishment that looks after families with children who are seriously, chronically or terminally ill and don't know how much time they have left together. The small registration fee of € 2 allowed each participant to make a personal contribution and help families to afford care throughout these difficult times.
Further information on this project is available at www.sterntalerhof.at
Our sincere thanks to all organisers from the market town of Leobersdorf and the large number of volunteers who have made this event possible and once again created the perfect conditions for a successful racing day.
